When it comes to celeb-loved skincare, there is one product that has attracted attention recently; the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre.
The French cream has become a bit of a viral icon for its ability to be a multi-tasker. In fact, makeup artist Emily Clarkson once told The Mirror that she uses it on all her clients, including Michelle Keegan, Perrie Edwards and Nina Nesbitt.
Boasting a rich formula, the cream is an all-rounder for your skincare routine as it acts as a primer, masque, after-shaving product, and make-up remover. Even better, it is fairly affordable, with 75ml tube currently down from £20 to £13.67 on Amazon, while Cult Beauty stocks it for £13.99.
If you’re wondering whether the French Cream is worth trying out for yourself, then The Mirror’s Bethan Shufflebotham recently tested it out. The Fashion & Beauty Writer has since hailed it as a “staple” in her skincare routine since she first tried it in 2022.
Bethan said: “I first tried out the cream for myself in March 2022, and it’s been a staple on my skincare and makeup routine ever since. I initially bought a smaller 30ml bottle, and once I used it all up, snapped up the larger size, which I’m still using. A little goes a really long way with this cream, and the tubes last so long – so much so that the packaging has even had a revamp since my last repurchase.”
She added that the consistency was “relatively thin, but not watery”, which she said made “it easy to spread around my face after cleansing”. Overall, the writer found that the cream “felt very satiny without any greasy residue” and also gave her skin ” a healthy sheen”.
Bethan went on to add: “I typically keep it in my makeup bag and use it before makeup. It helps my base go on like a dream and gives me a dewy finish to make my skin look fresh and healthy. Sometimes, especially in the winter months, I’ll use a thicker layer at night for a deeper, more repairing mask that sees ingredients like shea butter, beeswax and aloe vera work overnight.”

Beauty deal of the week
If you’re looking to add snail mucin into your skincare routine, then Holland Barrett has just slashed the price of a popular gel.
The Dr Organic’s Snail Gel is proving popular with shoppers who praise it for giving their skin a “younger feel” as well as “helping with wrinkles” and “fading dark spots. Originally priced at £19.99 for a 50ml tub, Holland Barrett has slashed the price down to just £14.99.
Designed for morning and evening use, this gel claims it can make users look younger in just four weeks.
The gel has been infused with Helix Aspersa Muller – a substance that snails naturally produce to help their skin and shell when damaged. There’s also aloe vera and bioactive plant ingredients to help leave skin “glowing” and “plumped”.
Over 400 shoppers have raved over the Dr Organic Snail Gel on the health retailer’s website, as users say they “can’t recommend it enough” and that it “feels amazing.”
One person said: “I have been using the gel for about a month and yesterday my daughter asked me if I’d had a bit of sneaky Botox done. As I am sixty five I feel this is recommendation enough for this product.”
And another added: “I bought this gel and cannot recommend it enough! Skin feels tight and refreshed, miracle in a jar”.
Shoppers can purchase the Dr Organic Snail Gel for £14.99 on the Holland and Barrett website here.
One said: “I have bought this multiple times because of how much I love it. The best skin prep for makeup and for all the primers I’ve tried this is the best! I have sensitive and oily skin and this doesn’t clog up my pores or feels too thick on this skin. Would highly recommend!”
A second added: “No wonder this is a cult product! Sits very well under make up without being heavy or greasy, doesn’t interfere with foundation and helps me look Dewy all day.”
As for celebrity endorsements, model Karlie Kloss said: “Embryolisse is where it’s at. It’s just a really good light cream — not too oily and not too thick.” Gwyneth Paltrow also hailed it a “Miracle moisturiser.”
Even Lady Gaga uses the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre moisturiser to keep her skin hydrated and to take off her makeup at the end of the day, commenting: “I put it all over my face and just wipe it off.”
While many shoppers loved the cream, there are a few reviews that have found the consistency to be a bit thick, leaving their skin “greasy” rather than glowing.
Beauty buffs can try out the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre for themselves by purchasing it for £13.67 on Amazon and £13.99 on Cult Beauty.
If you are looking for a similar option, then you can always try out the Avène Cicalfate + Restorative Protective Cream for Very Sensitive Skin. The gentle cream is currently down from £16 to £12.80 at Boots.
