I Tried True Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration Powder: Here’s My Honest Review

I was drawn to True Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration powder because I wanted to ensure that I was getting enough daily protein. I love chocolate, so I bypassed the unflavored option and ordered the chocolate fudge brownie flavor. Ordering was simple through the company website, and product delivery took about one week.

The label directions suggest mixing one scoop (a scoop is included in the product packaging) of protein powder with one cup of water, milk or juice. I chose to compare all three combinations.

I first mixed the protein powder with 2% milk in a blender. The flavor was good and not as chocolatey as some protein shakes I’ve tried. I wasn’t that crazy about this ingredient combination, mainly because after drinking the beverage, I got a slight stomach ache. I don’t know if that was caused by the protein powder, the milk or some unrelated fluke, but the stomach discomfort tainted my experience with the product.

The next day I mixed water and a small amount of ice with the protein powder in a blender until the beverage was smooth. I blended the mixture and found the consistency smoother than the milk and powder blend. I also liked the chocolate taste better.

For the juice, I thought about different chocolate combinations I like, deciding to mix the protein powder with orange juice then black cherry juice in a blender. While the orange juice combination was a tasty option I’d recommend, I was blown away by the deliciousness of the black cherry juice blend.

Of all the combinations I tested, my top picks were black cherry juice, water, orange juice and milk, in that order.

True Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration Powder: What I Liked

One of my favorite things about True Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration powder is the generous 27 grams of protein per serving.

I appreciate the purity of this product, which is free of artificial sweeteners and preserves the protein integrity using a cold-filtration process. I was also impressed by how tasty this powder was when blended with various beverages.

True Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration Powder: What I Didn’t Like

I always like to review a supplement’s third-party lab test results for each batch. However, I wasn’t able to find lab results for the Whey Protein Isolate Cold-Filtration product on True Nutrition’s website. I had to search the frequently asked questions (FAQs) section, only to find that I’d need to email the company to see the lab report.

I emailed my request and received the lab report testing for heavy metals the next day. The product passed on all heavy metal levels. Still, when I’m ready to order, I don’t like my momentum stalled while I wait for important information I need to make an informed decision.
