Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal recently shared news, which made him a cruel subject of the trolls. After taking a long break due to injury, Rafael Nadal returned to professional tennis with the Brisbane International. However, during his debut match against Marc Lopez, this tennis maestro again felt pain. While he succeeded in the next round against Dominic Thiem, Nadal had to retrieve from the Australian Open 2024 due to recurring pain after the match.

Nadal’s absence from this season’s debut Grand Slam event raised much criticism among fans. They simply questioned this Spaniard’s ability to play professional tournaments anymore. Now following his latest post, Nadal brought another excuse for the trolls to be harsh on him.

Rafael Nadal announced his return to the professional tournaments again

A reliable tennis source recently shared on their official X (formerly Twitter) that Rafael Nadal will be attending the ATP 250 event. They wrote- “Confirmed: Rafael Nadal will return to the Tour at the ATP 250 event in DOHA, which begins on the 19th of February!” After missing out on the Australian Open, Nadal once again surprised his fans by announcing his presence at the ATP 250 event in Doha, which will begin in February.

Nadal said- “I have worked very hard during the year for this comeback and as I always mentioned my goal is to be at my best level in three months, “I really wanted to play in Australia and I have had the chance to play a few matches that made me very happy and positive. Thanks all for the support and see you soon!”

While Nadal is trying his best to return to the court, fans are not happy with his decision. Amid the joy of seeing him on the court again, fans think he is playing low-level tournaments due to his backdated skills.

After the tweet, fans poured their anger over the thread. One fan sarcastically wrote- “If Djokovic manages to play ATP Doha Confirmed: Rafael Nadal withdraws from the ATP 250 event in DOHA, due to a random injury.” Another person commented by saying-“Which only proves that he want to fight low-ranged players. Doha organizers must have paid Rafa big amount to add prestige to a low level tournament.” 

Nadal fans also commented saying that they think it’s a strategic approach for Nadal to enhance his career statistics. It is for boosting his skills and confidence for bigger tournaments.
