When the seasons change outside, it’s natural to feel inspired to change your space inside too. The furniture retailer launched The Edit, a follow-up to its recently-debuted IKEA Style Guide, and its first edition—Swedish Roots—is all about bringing the spring season indoors through natural tones, blonde woods, primary colors, and outdoorsy greens. As always, you want to keep your space clutter-free (especially in the spirit of spring cleaning) while also adding in some fun, style, brightness, and accent colors to make the trek from inside to outside seamless.
“Think of your home as a seasonal reflection of who you are,” Abbey Stark, an interior design leader at IKEA, said in a blog post. “Spring is a time for rejuvenation and renewal, so try something new. Don’t be afraid to take risks, like welcoming textiles in bolder patterns and brighter colors than usual.”

Swedish Roots intends to provide what you need for your outdoor space now that you have the time and ability to host, entertain, and (most importantly) lounge. But even if your outdoor space is ready for anything, your indoor space also needs to be. Experts suggest: introducing new rituals, like eating seasonal foods more often; switching to lighter curtains and layers; adding more outdoor lighting with string lights and table lamps; implementing pops of colors in your cushion covers and patterned designs; indulging in happy plants; and giving yourself and your space exactly what you crave.
