I’m a Celeb stars clash as Jamie Lynn Spears accused of ‘crying wolf’
The public are yet to begin voting celebrities out of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, but life in the jungle has already proven to be too much for two contestants.
The first week Down Under featured heated arguments (and surprising reconciliations), new arrivals and, of course, loads of Bushtucker Trials.
On Wednesday (29 November), it was announced that Jamie Lynn Spears had quit the show on medical grounds.
An ITV spokesperson said: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds. She’s been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities.”
The singer and actor is the second celebrity to leave the jungle behind in two days. On Monday, the experience got the better of food critic and MasterChef judge Grace Dent, as she also quit on medical grounds.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV.

Nella and Nigel revisit chat about cultural appropriation
We’re back to this again. Nigel is worried she’s “upset” Nella (spoiler: he has).
Nella tells him: “I just feel like you were very dismissive about cultural appropriation yesterday.”
Nigel responds: “No, I was concerned. If I’m filmed saying wata I’ll get accused of cultural appropriation.”
Nella asks: “How does that get you any sort of backlash?”
She adds: “You are always going to have your opinions. I’m going to have always my opinions. Let’s not be the best of buds.”
Nigel Farage feels like a ‘failure’
Nigel failing that trial sets Ant up for the punchline: “You know Nigel, he always goes with the LEAVE option.”

It’s an early Brexit for Nigel Farage in the water trial.
The former UKIP leader failed to retrieve a single star in the challenge before saying the famous words: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.”

Jamie Lynn Spears said she was ‘struggling’ before exit
Speaking to Tony Bellew on Tuesday night’s episode, Jamie Lynn admitted that she was finding it tough being in the jungle.
“I needed a change of scenery. I was struggling earlier,” she told him. “I’m just tired of sitting up there. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to make you come all the way down here.”
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Bellew said: “She’s just getting frustrated, she misses her kids. She’s so far away from home.”
What had Jamie Lynn Spears said about leaving I’m a Celebrity?
During her early days in camp, Jamie Lynn Spears had struggled with appearing on the show, and said repeatedly that she wanted to go home.
However, as the show entered its second week, she appeared to have become more settled. Jamie Lynn bonded with Tony Bellew and Sam Thompson, and had been named as Fred Sirieix’s sous-chef in camp, leading them to joke that they should open a restaurant together.
But while the Zoey 101 star said that she’d made friends for life on the show, she had also struggled. She grew emotional while recalling a traumatic incident in which her daughter nearly died to her campmates on Monday (27 November), and on Tuesday (28 November) cried after eating a square of chocolate.
When Sam Thompson joked that she was the “girl who cried wolf” by saying that she wanted to leave, Jamie Lynn replied that she was “speaking honestly about my emotions”.
“You’re never leaving,” Sam told her, with Fred saying that he needed his sous-chef. Looking unimpressed, she said: “Don’t know what to tell you there, pal. I love y’all, that’s why I’m here… But I’m not crying wolf. I mean it very much… I mean it every time I want to leave. I have bad days. Not everyday is sunshine and roses.”
