But according to this savvy cleaning whizz, her cheap cleaning hack trumps any gadget on the market. 

This mum of three claims to have found the answer to all our prayers.

By using just two cheap ingredients you can wave goodbye to mouldy windows.

Fion Bloomfield posted her hack on social media which rocked up a whopping 12k likes and hundreds of comments, with people tagging their fellow mould busters to pass on the hack.

The savvy cleaning whizz who goes by the name of @Blooms_abode declares “no gadgets are needed” when it comes to preventing condensation and mould. 

In her clip TikTokers witness the simple cost -effective method.

First the cleaning whizz recommends opening your curtains and blinds each morning.

Then leave a pot of bicarbonate soda on the window seal which you can buy for under £2 in most stores.

No only is bicarbonate soda good for making bread and cakes, it also makes for a cost-effective way of dehumidifying spaces, according to this savvy mum.

Bicarbonate soda is known for absorbing moisture because of its hygroscopic properties and it works best in small spaces.

So find some small bowls for the rooms or spaces in the home you want to dehumidify.

Fill the bowls with baking soda and cover them with a thin cloth.

With time, you will notice that the baking soda hardens as it absorbs moisture. Just replace it with fresh baking soda when this happens to keep on top of the unwanted moisture around your windows.

Once these pots of magic are distributed around your home, Fiona adds the last magic touch to keep the mould at bay.

With a few swift sprays of Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster which you can buy for under £2, this savvy cleaner seals all her windows with this products using a cloth.

Fiona suggests repeating this process once every two weeks to keep the mould away in the winter months.
