I’m a Frequent Flier, and This ‘Soft and Luxurious’ Cashmere Travel Outfit Is the M.V.P. of My Suitcase

I love wearing two-piece sets because not only do they take the guesswork out of mixing and matching outfits together, but they also can be styled a number of ways by being worn together and separately. Their versatility goes a long way, and as a travel journalist who flies frequently, I’m always looking to pack and dress more efficiently.

On a recent work trip to Sedona, I was looking for a cozy set that I’d look stylish in while on the go. I knew that I wanted a fabric that exuded the same elegance and luxury as cashmere, but also offered comfort and longevity at a good price point: a criteria that led me to the Quince’s Mongolian Cashmere Full-Zip Hoodie and Mongolian Cashmere Sweatpants.

When I discovered the matching Quince set, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Considering that both the top and bottoms were only $100 each and are some of the brand’s best-sellers, I couldn’t resist, and landed on the multitasking black hue for my trip. Comparatively, other cashmere brands are priced much higher than this (one reviewer actually noted that the Quince set “was half the cost” of their other cashmere sweatsuits). On Quince’s website, the brand notes that the traditional cost of a competitor’s cashmere hoodie and sweatpants starts at $155 and $188, respectively.

Plus, the online reviews were overwhelmingly positive for both items. I also appreciate Quince’s efforts on ethical sourcing and sustainability, which both encouraged me to add the Mongolian Cashmere Full-Zip Hoodie and Mongolian Cashmere Sweatpants to my cart.

Both the zip hoodie and sweatpants are crafted with 100 percent Mongolian cashmere in a 12-gauge knit, making them long-lasting and warm. The top is roomy and comfortable, so it’s a great layering piece in transitional weather. During my trip, I wore it over a tank top for yoga and underneath a Helly Hansen puffer vest when I was hiking in the Red Rocks. Just as one Quince reviewer said, it’s “perfect for adding a soft layer to almost any casual outfit.” Another customer agreed, adding that they like to “layer it under my heavy coats to add warmth when it’s frozen outside.”

As for the cashmere sweatpants, they have a jogger-style silhouette with cuffs at the ankles to give them their sleek look. They have a comfortable elastic, drawstring waistband that sits nicely above the belly button for optimal coverage and support. Over in the reviews section, one Quince shopper commented that they “look very classy,” and another confirmed that “they are cut well — not baggy, not tight. Just right. They are so soft and luxurious.” Another winning feature of these joggers are the side pockets, which I love. They’re great for holding essentials like a small wallet, lip gloss, or keys.

The full-zip hoodie and matching sweatpants are sold separately, and the hoodie comes in 10 colors, while the bottoms are available in eight colors, both sized from XS to XL. Because it’s so soft, comfortable, and versatile, the set is perfect for lounging, running errands, and especially traveling. I found myself wearing them to brunch with a woven shirt underneath, using them as layers on chilly hikes, and even relaxing in them around the fireplace at my hotel.

Similarly, many of the Quince Mongolian Cashmere Hoodie and Sweatpants reviewers bought the set for traveling so they can look put-together while on the go, One shopper predicted: “It will be your go-to travel piece for the plane, the perfect sweater for video calls, and a toss-on for just about everything.”

Full disclosure: after my trip, I loved the cashmere full-zip hoodie and matching sweatpants so much that I purchased two additional sets in oatmeal beige and moss green. Like me, most reviewers ended up getting multiple colors of the hoodie, joggers, or the set because of their all-purpose appeal.

With its comfy fit, luxurious softness, and elegant appeal, it’s the perfect duo for jet setting or a cozy night in. Don’t miss your chance to feel comfy and fabulous at a great price point with the Quince Mongolian Cashmere Full-Zip Hoodie and Mongolian Cashmere Sweatpants.
