TikTok‘s prevailing reach within the music industry is extending. On Sunday, Dec. 10, the video app will launch In the Mix, its first-ever live music event, with headlining performances from Cardi B, Niall Horan, Anitta, and Charlie Puth. The event is scheduled to take place at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, but will also be broadcast globally with TikTok Live.
“I really love my TikTok fans and I’m very excited to be able to bring The Show to the TikTok In The Mix event,” Horan shared in a press statement. “I’m also very much looking forward to performing in such a special venue and putting on an amazing show for all the fans that will be present on the day and also all the fans that will be watching from all over the world live on TikTok.”
Bringing In the Mix into the fold of its other flagship programs, TikTok will also feature artists from its Elevate program, which launched earlier this year to celebrate emerging musicians.
Kaliii, Isabel LaRosa, Sam Barber and Lu Kala will deliver the event’s non-headlining performances. Fans on the event grounds in Arizona will also encounter activations inspired by TikTok’s For You page activity. Additional appearances will be made from creators and other special guests.
In a statement, Paul Hourican, TikTok’s global head of music partnerships and programming said: “No other platform mixes music, culture and creativity like TikTok. With In The Mix, our goal is to bring the For You feed to life for fans at the venue and on TikTok. Our vision is to create a show that is reimagined for the TikTok era and our music-loving global community.”
Tickets for In the Mix will be available exclusively through TikTok in a general sale beginning on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 9 a.m. PST. A fan presale will launch on Friday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. PST for TikTok users who receive a special code for following the headlining artists on the app. More information can be found on the official In the Mix landing page.
TikTok’s exploration of the live music space, as well as ticketing, comes on the heels of the streaming service TikTok Music officially launching operations in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore last week. TikTok’s parent company, Bytedance, began an initial beta rollout of the program in July.
