Inchauspe Earns Top-25 Singles Win As Men’s Tennis Falls Just Short At No. 8 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The Princeton University men’s tennis team fought valiantly but fell just short to No. 8 Duke, 4-3, at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center on an afternoon that saw Paul Inchauspe earn a top-25 singles victory.

“I was pleased to see the improvement and growth from Friday night’s match at NCST,” said Head Coach Billy Pate. “The guys learned a lot from that match and battled well today against a very good team. Like NC State, Duke is experienced throughout their lineup, and it posed a good challenge. We started well in doubles but didn’t sustain the momentum. Losing five first sets in singles made it an even bigger hole to climb out of, but we clawed our way back and gave ourselves a shot to win. We’ll take these lessons this weekend into next our next match versus Tulsa Saturday at the ITA kickoff.”

In singles, Inchauspe earned an impressive 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win over No. 21 Sebastian Rodenas, at the No. 2 position. No. 87 Ellis Short took down Connor Krug at the No. 4 posiiton, 3-6, 6-4, 7-3, and at No. 5 Landon Ardila dispatched Andrew Dale, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3
