Increase in air travel expected at Bradley International Airport this Memorial Day weekend

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WWLP) – This Memorial Day weekend, many air travelers are expected to take to the skies. Bradley International Airport is preparing for more than 65-thousand passengers to depart between now and May 29th.

These numbers are only slightly higher than last year’s travel numbers. The busiest days for travel are expected to be Friday and Saturday between the hours of 4 AM and 7 AM. This means that there may be longer lines and possible delays. The spokesperson for Bradley International Airport advises travelers to plan ahead and arrive at the airport early.

“It’s been the theme in recent months we saw it on April vacation, Thanksgiving, more and more people are traveling nationally and locally as well, so we are seeing an increase in those numbers across the board with people taking to the skies,” said Public Information Officer for Bradley International Airport, Brian Spyros.

Following TSA guidelines on what to put in your carry on and checking parking availability can also help make the travel experience easier. You’re also encouraged to check your flight status and stay in touch with your airline in case anything changes.
