Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Performs Poorly at the Box Office

Industry estimates say that by the end of the July 4 holiday weekend, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will have made about $82 million in American sales. This means that the summer action movie is still not doing as well as it could be.

Variety says that the action story, which was directed by James Mangold and starred Harrison Ford as the famous Indiana Jones for the fifth time, made an estimated $11.8 million on Monday, bringing its domestic total to $71 million.

The movie, which also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, and Mads Mikkelsen, must do better at the box office to make money. The stakes are even higher because Disney and Lucasfilm put $295 million into making this movie.

Box Office Mojo says that the movie did not do well when it opened in other countries. As of Monday, it had only made $70.1 million in foreign markets.

Even though July 4 doesn’t usually bring a lot of people to the movies, it does help companies make more money from their summer blockbusters that come out during this time.
