IndieWire Honors 2025 Was a Celebration of TV at Its Very Best: See All the Photos

There’s no award show quite like IndieWire Honors. The star power is as bright as you’ll find anywhere, with creatives behind “Severance,” “Adolescence,” “Paradise,” “Poker Face,” “The Penguin,” “Ren Faire,” “1923,” “#1 Happy Family USA,” and “Matlock” in attendance. But it assembles those stars in an intimate setting that’s more about celebrating the human work that goes into our favorite shows than seeing and being seen. It’s the kind of event where host Robby Hoffman could convince Ben Stiller to roll up his sleeve and flex his forearms for the crowd, award recipients could playfully rib each other about their (real or imagined) nepo baby status all night, and attendees could easily mingle with their favorite stars in a relaxed environment.

More than anything, the 2025 TV IndieWire Honors, held at NeueHouse Hollywood on Thursday, June 5, was a celebration of our talented honorees.

“Matlock” star Kathy Bates received the Vanguard Award for her decades-spanning career at the apex of Hollywood.

Ben Stiller and Jessica Lee Gagné received the Auteur Award for their partnership on “Severance,” which saw Gagné transition from Stiller’s longtime DP to a director in her own right.

Natasha Lyonne received the Maverick Award for bringing her unapologetically individual persona to “Poker Face.”

Mara Brock Akil was honored with the Visionary Award for a career spent telling sincere stories on TV and inspiring a new generation of writers and showrunners.

Colin Farrell and makeup designer Mike Marino received the Wavelength Award for collaborating on his incredible transformation into “The Penguin.”

Ramy Youssef and Pam Brady received the Spark Award for using the medium of animation to provoke our thoughts while making us laugh on “#1 Happy Family USA.”

Lance Oppenheim received the Magnify Award for finding human drama in the most unexpected places in “Ren Faire.”

Julianne Nicholson received the Performance Award for transforming herself into yet another brilliant role on “Paradise.”

Aminah Nieves and Owen Cooper each received the Breakthrough Award for capturing the world’s attention on “1923” and “Adolescence,” respectively.
