Thank you for your support of local journalism at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I’m very pleased to invite you to a special edition of “Inside the Journal Sentinel” featuring Meg Kissinger, the author of “While You Were Out: An Intimate Family Portrait of Mental Illness in an Era of Silence.”
Kissinger is a proud Journal Sentinel alum. The book is garnering rave reviews for its honest, unflinching and heartfelt portrayal of her family’s struggle with mental illness. In the book, she describes reporting she did for the Journal Sentinel exposing abysmal housing in Milwaukee for people with serious mental illness. You’ll get a chance to hear about Meg’s reporting days at the paper, her work as an author and the hope her book is inspiring.
