International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Forges Partnership With Dubai Studios


The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Dubai Studios, which is a unit of Dubai Media Company, have forged a long-term partnership at the Mipcom TV market in Cannes. 

The so called “Gala” partnership includes sponsorship of the International Emmy World Television Festival in New York, where over 600 television professionals from over 60 countries convene annually, and the International Emmy Awards Gala as well as International Academy events that will take place in Dubai.

The partnership, which was hailed in a statement as “a significant milestone in fostering television excellence from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and promoting cross cultural collaborations within the global entertainment industry,” was signed in Cannes between Mohamed Al Mulla, group CEO of Dubai Media and Bruce L. Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy.

“This strategic partnership aligns with Dubai’s vision to amplify its media presence on a global scale,” said Al Mulla in the statement, before going on the note that “the future of entertainment will be shaped by content creators whose voices are rooted in local culture and language and our industry has a responsibility to champion these creatives and narratives.”

“We are delighted to welcome Dubai Studios as a sponsor of the International Academy and are looking forward to bringing the global television community together in Dubai for Academy Day,” Paisner said. “We thank H.E. Mohamed Al Mulla and the Dubai Studios team for spearheading this important partnership.”

Starting in 2025, Dubai Studios will be among the sponsors of the International Emmy World Television Festival and the International Emmy Awards Gala in New York. Additionally, each year Dubai Studios will host a semi-final round of judging event for the International Emmy Awards competition in Dubai. 

Furthermore, Dubai Studios will be hosting an “Academy Day in Dubai” for International Academy Members at a date to be announced. Academy Day is described in the statement as a high-level, by-invitation only four-day networking event “designed to shine a spotlight on the culture and media industry of the region and foster a better understanding of regional business models and cultural institutions to help facilitate cross border collaboration.”

Dubai Media is the official media organization of the government of Dubai and owns a wide portfolio of print, radio and TV channels.
