What to know:
Purdue senior center Zach Edey had 35 points and 14 rebounds Friday night at Northwestern, but it wasn’t enough in the Boilermakers’ 92-88 overtime loss.
Edey leads the Big Ten in points, rebounds and blocked shots per game with 23.4, 11.1 and 2.9, respectively. Teammate Braden Smith leads the conference in assists per game with 7.0.
Edey’s high point total in five games against Iowa is 14. He had 14 rebounds in both of his last two games against the Hawkeyes.
The Boilermakers outrebounded Northwestern, 52-27, and have outrebounded their opponents by 12.6 per game.
Iowa is coming off a 101-78 win over North Florida last Wednesday. Ben Krikke, who played collegiately in Indiana for four years at Valparaiso, made all 11 of his free throws and scored 21 points. He started his Iowa career by missing 5 of 9 foul shots, but is 17-of-18 over the last three games.
Iowa freshman center Owen Freeman has yet to play 20 minutes in a game, but averages 10.3 points and 2.1 blocks per game.
Iowa has lost its last five games at Purdue, and by an average of 19 points. Boilermakers Coach Matt Painter is 20-10 against the Hawkeyes.
Purdue is 65-15 since the start of the 2021-22 season.
