Iowa’s next game: At home next Wednesday against North Florida at 8 p.m.

What to know: The Hawkeyes lost to Oklahoma 79-67 and Seton Hall fell to USC 71-63 in Thursday’s first round of the Rady Children’s Invitational. The Hawkeyes trailed by as much as 22 points, and Seton Hall was behind by as much as 20 against the Trojans.

Iowa shot 35.8 percent from the field against the Sooners, and was 4-of-23 from 3-point distance, making it 6-for-35 over the last two games. Freshman center Owen Freeman had a team-high and career-high 13 points, and blocked three shots to give him eight over the last three games.

Seton Hall had 13 shots blocked by USC. Joshua Morgan had a school-record 10 for the Trojans.

Iowa beat the Pirates last year in Newark, N.J., 83-67, behind Kris Murray’s 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Seton Hall began this season with four home wins over teams from New Jersey and New York by an average of 21.8 points.

The Pirates’ second-year coach is Shaheen Holloway, who guided St. Peter’s to an NCAA Elite Eight berth in 2022. It was the first No. 15-seed to ever go that deep in an NCAA tourney.

Senior guard Kadary Richmond averages team-highs in scoring (14.8), rebounding (6.8), assists (4.0) and steals (2.6).
