Is Simon Cowell Quitting Showbiz

Simon Cowell may quit show business because he wants to spend more time with his son.

During The X Factor’s heyday, when the show had more than 14 million viewers, Mr. Saturday Night ate at some of Mayfair’s best restaurants with his celebrity friends, where paparazzi were always ready to take pictures of him as he left.

He wanted to be famous so much that he would call editors to his mansion in west London for a curry or a ride in his Maserati.

But after selling his £45 million home in Holland Park this month to move to the country in Oxfordshire, Cowell is getting closer to giving up show business for good.

The Mail on Sunday can also say that his fiancee, Lauren Silverman, has taken over running his once-very famous entertainment company, Syco, with very little help from him.

People who know Cowell, 63, say that he rarely sees his famous friends, with the exception of Amanda Holden, whose husband Chris Hughes signed him with the YMU talent agency last year. That deal was made by Ms. Silverman, who is 46 years old.

Cowell is still a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent with Amanda Holden, but he has no other TV responsibilities and wants to spend more time with his nine-year-old son Eric, whom he “totally dotes on.”

He is also said to have thought about life after he fell off an e-bike at his home in California in 2020. He said he was lucky to be alive after the accident. He broke his back, and the surgery took six hours.
