According to sources close to Deadline, four seasons wouldn’t be the cap, or spinoffs could be in the making.

Why hasn’t ‘Tulsa King’ been renewed yet?

There are no official reports on why the show has not been renewed. However, Deadline reports that the show could still be negotiating contracts for a potential pay increase for star Sylvester Stallone.

The show has increased Stallone’s pay per episode each season, starting at $750,000 in season 1 to $1.5 million in season 2, according to Deadline.

How was season 2 of ‘Tulsa King’ received?

The season two premiere brought in 2 million global views on premiere day and over 5.4 million viewers in the first seven days. Overall, it outpaced season one by 8%, with more than 10 million global household views.

Was ‘Tulsa King’ filmed in Oklahoma?

Season 1 of “Tulsa King” was filmed primarily in Oklahoma, but production for season 2 moved to Georgia. The move of “Tulsa King” from OKC to Atlanta put Stallone closer to home in Palm Beach, Florida.

So far, the Stallone vehicle is the largest scripted television series to be produced in Oklahoma using the incentives under the Filmed in Oklahoma Act of 2021.

Movies and television are big business in Georgia: The Peach State harvested $4.4 billion in spending from film and TV productions in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Georgia’s film incentive is the biggest in the country, according to Variety, and the Peach State is one of six states that doesn’t have a cap on its film incentive.

Some Oklahoma leaders would like to see the cap on the Sooner State’s film incentive boosted to keep more movie and television projects rolling here.
