The Turman Gallery at Indiana State University opened its doors Monday to its latest exhibition, ‘it from bit.’
Inspired by physicist John Wheeler’s concept that reality is fundamentally shaped by digital information rather than matter, the exhibition features digital art created by students from the Department of Art and Design and runs through Dec. 13.
Students have produced artworks that blend traditional mediums with digital technologies.
The exhibition was curated by Farhad Bahram and Sam T. Morlan.
It invites visitors to reflect on how digital and human experiences interact. The diverse works from students illustrate the profound impact of technology on everyday life and encourage us to consider the essence of our existence in the digital age, according to an ISU news release.
Turman Gallery is located the Fine Arts Building.
A reception will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Attendees can meet with students to learn more about their process.
The exhibition is free and open to the public Mondays to Fridays between 11 a.m.and 4 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays.
