ITV I’m A Celebrity star left fuming after bitter fallout with hosts Ant and Dec

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Tony Bellew was seen having a massive row just before the credits rolled on Friday night.

The former world champion boxer was upset that his team, Camp Away, had lost the luxury breakfast challenge, meaning he’d go another day without any tasty home comforts.

Afterwards, host of the ITV show, Dec Donnelly revealed: “He was like, ‘That’s not right. They’re doing that because they want to see a fat man starve,” after eagle-eyed viewers spotted Tony’s reaction.

Before the next Bushtucker Trial, Dec was hoping that Tony, 40, wasn’t picked. “If Tony has to do the drinking challenge he’s going to punch me in the face. I mean, he can’t even eat beans…” said Dec, referring to the time Tony spat them out. His co-host, Ant McPartlin then joked: “He’ll knock both of us out. Can we not do it, can’t we send in a VT of ourselves?”

Before all this fuss, Tony thought that he and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard had beaten Fred Sirieix and Frankie Dettori in the handball challenge. But he was shocked when he realised that the First Dates maitre d’hotel and jockey had actually won by 21 points. “That is a load of b******s!” he fumed. “We need VAR!”

After watching the stormy scenes, fans of I’m A Celebrity took to social media to share their thoughts. One viewer wrote: “Tony scares me like he’s going to kick off at any minute.” Another fan said: “Nah, can we not get a live stream of Tony Bellew’s continuous reaction to that result, he’s not far off being ready to swing at Ant and Dec with that losing rage building…”

This comes during a tough time for Tony, who recently lost his beloved grandma Rose. Before heading into the Aussie jungle, the sportsman told OK! magazine: “I signed [the ITV contract] the day before she passed away, so there was no going back then. If I sign something, I honour my agreement.”

“In an ideal world I would have left it but I had signed. I was coming, so I am here. But I am going back to bury her on the 15th. I was going to renegade if I couldn’t move the burial date. I can bury her now when I get back.”

He added: “She was in a home. And she told my mum ‘I’ll be able to watch that [I’m A Celeb] every night’. So yeah, it is what it is. She’ll be watching, you know, from wherever she is and whatever she’s doing. She was a diamond of an old lady. She was wonderful.”
