Jada-Pinkett Smith talked about what he thought at first when his six-year-ago ex-husband Will Smith hit comic Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
Alopecia has left Chris Rock with a “smacked the sh*t” face during the March 2022 Academy Awards. Rock had made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, referencing the movie “G.I. Jane Joe.”
Smith, 55, has since apologized to the Academy and Chris Rock several times. For 10 years, he had not been seen at any events.
Now that the event is over, the Gemini Man actor’s wife talked about what she thought about her husband hitting Chris Rock.
When asked about her new book “Worthy,” she told People Magazine, “I thought, ‘This is a skit.’”
“I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him.’ It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I even realized it wasn’t a skit,” she said.
The former Nutty Professor also told Smith what she said to him after the event.
She asked the member of Fresh Prince, “Are you okay?” She also told the news source that she had decided to “going to be by his side but also allow him to have to figure this out for himself.”
