Jada Pinkett Smith Says Her Children Were Aware of Her Problems in Her Marriage to Will Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith said she didn’t hide the fact that she and Will Smith are having problems with their marriage from their kids.

After her shocking memoir Worthy came out on October 16, the 52-year-old actress from Girls Trip was on the October 16 episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty show.

This month, she said that she and the 55-year-old former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star had been split up since 2016. Their son Jaden is 25 years old and their daughter Willow is 22. They got married in 1997. Smith and his ex-wife Sheree Zampino also have a son together, Trey, who is 30 years old.

During the talk, Jada talked about the good and bad parts of her relationship and brought up the “entanglement” she had with August Alsina, her son’s friend, in 2020, during their breakup.

“I think one of the saving factors was there were no secrets between Will and I,” Jada said. “And there were no secrets between my kids and I.”

“The fact that my family was absolutely aware of the entire journey, it was a saving grace for me,” she said, adding, “Will knows he was not betrayed.”

My kids know I didn’t lie to their dad. I care about that only,” she said.
