Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis has been criticized for mocking the incident that left Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell hospitalized with a concussion on the same day she was publicly censured for making misleading statements regarding the 2020 presidential race.

CNN reporter Jake Tapper tweeted in reaction to Ellis, who shared a video of a turtle going down the stairs with the caption “BREAKING: Video footage from last night’s McConnell dinner obtained,” “The basic lack of humanity consistently demonstrated by these guys is simply astonishing.” Similarly, Talking Points Memo founder Josh Marshall stated, “I’m not a tremendous fan of Mitch McConnell’s impact on American public life. Yet, you must be a bad person to find this amusing or humorous. I assume he is still hospitalized.” The 81-year-old senator is anticipated to be hospitalized for the foreseeable future.
