Jason Derulo Accused by Emaza Gibson Stating He Wanted Illegal Favors for Record Contract

Emaza Gibson has accused Jason Derulo of quid pro quo sexual harassment, saying that her traumatic experience has left her with worry and a sense of trauma.

She says that Derulo first offered her a coveted record deal, but then, to her horror, he started pressuring her for s*x in exchange for helping her career.

Gibson told NBC News on Wednesday how sad she is about the situation.

She said, “I’ve dealt with inhumane work situations… I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.”

After moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Emaza Gibson joined her sisters Saiyr and Znuie in the singing group Ceraadi.

Gibson filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court. In it, she says that Jason Derulo ended her contract because she turned down his unwanted sexual advances, as well as offers to hang out and drink alcohol.

The claim describes what happened starting in August 2021, when Derulo reached out to Gibson and asked her to join a project that brought together his music label, Future History, and Atlantic Records.

The contract said that she had to put out a song with Derulo, make a mixtape in four months, and finish an album in six months.

Gibson started working with Derulo to make songs that they could show to people at Atlantic Records. During this time, Derulo sent out invites to members-only lounges for drinks and dinners.

She turned down these requests because she wanted to keep things professional.
