Jay Johnston of Bob’s Burgers Accused with Capitol Riots

Actor Jay Johnston, known for his roles in “Bob’s Burgers” and “Arrested Development,” was arrested on Wednesday on charges linked to his alleged involvement in the riots at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Johnston is accused of obstructing officers during a civil disturbance, which is a felony. He is also accused of several misdemeanors, such as entering a restricted building and acting in a disruptive way with the goal to slow down government work.

The Department of Justice says that Johnston was part of a “group assault” on officers guarding the Capitol’s door. Video evidence shows that he was holding a stolen shield during the attack, which backs up the Department of Justice’s claim.

The probe into the Capitol riot is still going on. So far, over 1,000 people have been named as suspects.

Johnston, who is 54 years old, was on the writing staff and in the cast of the 1990s TV show Mr. Show with Bob and David. He also played Officer Taylor in the show Arrested Development and the voice of Jimmy Pesto Sr. in the show Bob’s Burgers.
