Jay Leno came out for the first time since filing for a conservatorship over his wife, Mavis, following her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
The 73-year-old talk show host, dressed in a Canadian tuxedo, appeared sombre and downcast as he was pictured with a few men at Los Angeles’ airport on Saturday afternoon, according to Page Six.
It is unclear when Mavis, 77, was diagnosed, but a conservatorship hearing is scheduled for April 9. The conservatorship, as reported by TMZ last week, was called due to Mavis’s health.
Jay and Mavis have been together since 1980, when they married. A week later, mutual acquaintances formally introduced them, and they began dating right away.
Despite the fact that they never had children, the pair has always been supportive of one other.
In November 2022, the philanthropist was by her husband’s side as he suffered third-degree burns after one of his antique automobiles exploded in his face.
She was also present when he was healing from many broken bones sustained in a motorbike crash shortly after the blast.
Jay was last seen with his wife in November 2023, in Los Angeles, on their way to a comedy event together.
