Jay Olivia’s Impact on DCU, Warner Bros

Even though the DC Extended Universe (DCU) is often said to have been built by Zack Snyder, Jay Olivia’s efforts should not be forgotten.

Olivia’s impact goes beyond the animation projects she and Snyder have worked on together, such as “Man of Steel,” “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and “Justice League.”

In a recent interview to mark the 10th anniversary of “The Flashpoint Paradox,” Olivia talked about how his work served as a blueprint for building and growing the DCU across different platforms.

Olivia says that Geoff Johns, a key figure in the development of the DCU, used her cartoon movies as a way to test out live-action projects. David Ayer and James Gunn were able to make movies after “Suicide Squad” because of how well it turned out.

Olivia’s role in “The Flash” was also important. Even though he was a key part of making the movie, he said he hadn’t seen it and was surprised that no one had talked to him about it.

Olivia talked about comic book fatigue and how the audience wants cleverly told stories with no hidden goals. This was in addition to what he had done for the DCU. His point of view is important because superhero movies have trouble coming up with new stories.

Olivia’s words are a call for directors to make original blockbusters like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and stop making formulaic movies like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” and “The Flash.” This is because the ” multiverse ” idea is becoming more popular in superhero stories.
