According to multiple sources, Jenna Ortega is not expected to return for ‘Scream VII’ due to filming commitments for ‘Wednesday.’ It’s understood that the actress stepping down from her ‘Scream VII’ role was decided upon before the actor’s strike. The previous movie, ‘Scream VI’, was the horror franchise’s best opening ever, making $67 million at the global box office. Although the cast has yet to receive a script for the movie, Ortega is set to travel to Ireland in April to shoot season two of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday.’ Additionally, she has a few more days of shooting ‘Beetlejuice’ post-SAG-AFTRA strike in order to meet its scheduled Labor Day 2024 release. The 21-year-old received a Comedy Series Actress Primetime Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe Comedy TV Actress nomination for ‘Wednesday.’
