Jeremy Strong Claims That the Original Ending of ‘Succession’ Was Much More Shocking

Succession’s American star Jeremy Strong says the shocking alternative ending to the show’s last episode, which aired on Sunday, was much worse. On the official podcast, the actor who plays Kendall Roy on the show talked about the show.

He told Kara Swisher that his character’s last scene, in which he jumps into the river, was made up on the spot, which surprised the cast and crew. His character is taken by surprise when his sister betrays him and stops him from taking over their late father’s business as CEO.

In the scene, he sits on a bench and gazes into the distance while his guardian, who was once his father’s driver, keeps an eye on him. He then tries to jump into the river but is stopped by Scott Nicholson, who plays his guard.

He said, “I stood up and walked slowly to the barrier that was set up there and climbed over it. And I didn’t really know what I plan to do. And the actor playing Colin saw me, ran, and stopped me from doing it. I looked at these waves. And it was so windy that day and so cold. And there was some piece of metal clanging, and it was this terrible sound. And I sort of couldn’t bear it. I stood up, walked slowly to the barrier set up there, and climbed over it. And I didn’t really know what I plan to do. And the actor playing Colin saw me, ran, and stopped me from doing it.”
