Jisoo of Blackpink Has Set a New Record for Highest First-Week Album Sales

Jisoo of the K-pop group Blackpink had the best first week sales of any female K-pop solo artist in Hanteo’s history. On March 31, she dropped her debut album under her own name alongside its accompanying music video.

According to the data provided by the Hanteo Chart, the album ultimately sold a staggering 876,249 copies on the first day of its release. Lisa, who is in the same band as Jisoo, used to hold the record with her hit solo song “LaLisa,” which sold about 330,129 copies on the day it came out in 2021. Jisoo’s bandmate took the record from Lisa in 2022.

Even among female artists who perform as part of a group, she has the second-highest first-week sales of any artist. The only group that has outsold her is her own Blackpink, who just released a new album titled Born Pink.
