John Stamos remembers catching his partner cheating on him with Tony Danza

John Stamos recalls catching his then-girlfriend in bed with Tony Danza in what he described as his ‘worst nightmare’, during their short romance in the 1980s.

He wrote about the incident in his “If You Would Have Told Me” memoir, which hits markets on Tuesday, October 24.

Stamos initially did not suspect Teri Copley was cheating on him until she went hours of radio silence before he remembered that Danza, her ex-husband, was in town.

He then got in his car and drove to her home where he found the lights off and no movement despite a car being parked in the driveway.

The Porsche 356 speedster contained a poster of his wife, half-unrolled as she was half-naked. It was a poster that he had never laid eyes upon before.

So he headed to the house itself, which was locked but he recalled that the pair used to sleep together in the guesthouse in the backyard and upon heading to the building, he found his adulterous girlfriend with her ex-lover.

“I call her from the road, but the girl who breathlessly picked up the phone after one ring is now giving me busy signals and dial tones,” he wrote in an extract obtained by Entertainment Weekly.

“When I get home, I call her throughout the day and into the evening. No response. Strange. We’ve gone from talking on the phone every few hours to silence.”

“The blinds are closed, but the door is slightly open,” he continued. “I take a peek inside and see four feet protruding from the shabby-chic, floral-print duvet that once kept me warm.

“My Tiny Dancer is in bed with Mr. Porsche Speedster. They are sleeping. I can’t tell who he is, but I recognize Teri‘s a** barely covered by the sheets. It looks like her new poster,” the “You” star recalled, describing the moment as “my worst nightmare.”

He fled from the scene, feeling heartbroken and stole the poster from the car. He didn’t know who was being busy with his girlfriend until he heard an Elton John song that it dawned upon him the man was Tony Danza.

“I try to hold back tears,” he shared. “Time slows until I’m frozen. I can’t breathe. A few tears roll down my face, and it pis**s me off. They snap me out of my daze, and I feel angry and confused. I could explode.”

Danza and Copley were reached out to by the New York Post but have not yet commented.

Stamos hated his ex-wife

In 2005, Stamos underwent a nasty divorce from his wife whom he only married in 2004 but had been dating since 1994.

“In my mind back then, she was the Devil, and I just hated her,” he said to People. “I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life. Looking back, and I talk about it [in the book], because it’s one of the steps in AA where the fourth step is you lay out all your grievances, everything that people did to you. I go like, ‘None.’

He further noted the impact of dating Rebecca Romijn and being married to her, which had long-term damage on him that it took him a lot of time to recover from.

“My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too,” he continued. “I mean, a year, okay, good. But it went on [for] years and years.”
