Jonathan Majors Guilty of Assault and Harassment, Jury Dropped Other Charges

Jonathan Majors, a Marvel superhero, has been convicted guilty of reckless harassment in an assault trial.

The courtroom drama unfolded over three days as the jury pondered for five long hours, delivering a divided decision for the 34-year-old actor.

Majors was charged with misdemeanors after an argument with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in New York City in March.

The jury’s ruling reflects a nuanced perspective, accepting irresponsible behavior while denying intent in specific aspects of the incident.

While he faces up to a year in prison, legal experts believe he should be treated leniently as a first-time offender.

The judge issued an order of protection prohibiting Majors from contacting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Jabbari boldly revealed a difficult connection with the singer in a riveting four-day testimony, frequently breaking down in tears and seeking relief from the defense’s tough cross-examination.

She described terrifying incidents in which Majors allegedly lost control, destroying candles and trampling on her headphones.

Jabbari also uncovered text messages implying coercion, with Majors advising against seeking medical attention following an incident.

The prosecution introduced audio recordings of Majors admonishing Jabbari, claiming he needed a supporting spouse like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama.

Majors, who mainly avoided eye contact, cast an unsettling gaze at Jabbari as she recounted the alleged physical attack on March 25.

Alvin Bragg, the district attorney for Manhattan, stressed the dedication to survivor-centric justice, noting evidence from the trial of a disturbing cycle of psychological and emotional abuse.
