DURHAM – Graduate student defensive back Myles Jones was selected to the CBS Sports Midseason All-America Team, the organization announced this week.
Jones was one of three ACC players to be honored, joining Miami kick returner Brashard Smith and Louisville defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte.
Jones has recorded 131 career tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions, 31 pass breakups, two caused fumbles, one fumble recovery and one quarterback pressure in 53 career games. Throughout his collegiate career, he has registered four-plus tackles on 14 occasions, including a career-high nine tackles against Wake Forest in 2017. The Magnolia, Texas, native holds a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.7 this season, which ranks first nationally among cornerbacks. His 91.0 percent coverage grade is also first in the country.
In 2023, Duke holds a 96.45 pass defense efficiency rating to rank first in the ACC and second nationally. Additionally, the Blue Devils are only allowing 164.70 passing yards per outing, which place them first in the ACC and eighth in the country behind Penn State (121.20), Michigan (142.10), Notre Dame (153.10), Ohio State (154.30), Rutgers (160.60), Air Force (163.00), and Ohio (163.40).
