Jonnie Irwin Discusses His Financial Struggles and His Fight Against Cancer

Jonnie Irwin just had the best-ever and probably last Father’s Day with his kids. Now that he knows he has a fatal sickness, he has said there is “one thing” he wishes he had done differently.

The star of “A Place in the Sun” has cancer that has spread from his lungs to his brain. He recently talked about his illness and said that he might only have months left to live.

Even though he was dying, the father of three has always been in a good mood.

In an honest talk, he said that he could have told people about his illness sooner, but he didn’t because he was afraid of losing his job and not being able to take care of his family.

In a OneChat show with AIG life, the 49-year-old star talked about how worried he was about his finances and how he had to keep working because he hadn’t taken out his critical illness insurance.

He said, “I have no means of paying the bills without work.”

“I thought I was doing well just taking out life insurance.”

“It’s one positive thing and helped me a great deal in getting a financial position in life to know my wife and my boys are more secure,” Jonnie said, but he wished he had gotten that extra coverage by getting critical illness insurance as well.
