The Jackson Police Department is moving forward into the 21st century when it comes to improvements on police chases. A new tool was announced Friday, called the Star Chaser Launcher. It’s a tool officers will be able to use on cars to track subjects wherever they go in the U.S.“We’ve been moving into the 21st century with technology, as you see,” said Deputy Chief Vincent Grizzell. “Probably every month, we have been bringing something new to the table to show we are moving forward, and if you look at JPD outside the recruitment side, we are the No. 1 tech agency in the state of Mississippi, so we have a lot to be proud of.”Grizzell said 25 Chaser Launchers have been delivered so far. He said within the next 30 days, specialized units will receive training on how to properly use this tool to ensure more safety for the community.
