JTI Cambodia and Ministry of Environment Sign MoU to Strengthen Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development


JT International (Cambodia) Co. Ltd (also known as JTI), a leading international tobacco company, and the Ministry of Environment have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), empowering JTI to better cooperate with the Ministry of Environment on environmental conservation and sustainable development in Cambodia. On this special occasion, JTI also handed over 33 cargo tricycles to the Ministry of Environment to maintain a clean environment.

The signing ceremony took place on June 27th, 2024, at the Ministry of Environment, with esteemed presence of His Excellency Eang Sophalleth, Minister of the Ministry of Environment, and His Excellency Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, as well as Secretary of State, Undersecretary of State, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, and representatives of national and international organizations who are JTI’s partners.

The signing of the MoU reaffirms JTI Cambodia’s commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility, aligning with its core values and principles. The company looks forward to collaborating with the Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact on Cambodia’s environmental and socio-economic landscape.
