Jungkook Makes History at the People’s Choice Awards 2024

Jungkook, a BTS member, got another feather to his head by winning Male Artist of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards 2024.

The lavish award event in Santa Monica on Sunday represented a watershed moment in the Dynamite vocalist’s professional career, as he became the first Asian musician to be honored with the title.

Jungkook, who had his big solo debut with his first studio album, Golden, in November 2023, outperformed other finalists for the prized honor, such as Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake, who were among the top two to four most streamed artists on Spotify last year.

His agency took to social media, posting a heartfelt acceptance statement on BTS’ official X, formerly known as Twitter, account.

“You made this possible,” the Butter crooner added, crediting his victory to his globally extended fan group, known as Army.

Jungkook received four nominations at the People’s Choice Awards, including Pop Artist of the Year, Make Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Collaboration Song of the Year for Seven starring Latto.

His huge win occurred after the 26-year-old South Korean musician released his all-English album, which featured collaborations with several international artists, including Latto, Jack Harlow, and Usher.
