Many young churches consider it a milestone when they draw enough members to buy a vacant big-box store or warehouse in the suburbs to convert to a spacious sanctuary.
Twin Cities Church in St. Paul has found its new home in the city, right along University Avenue.
The church paid $1 million for an 11,700-square-foot building at 1754 University Ave. W. The building, which sits on a 0.23-acre sliver of land, includes 7,100 square feet of first-floor office space, 1,700 square feet of second floor office, and 2,900 square feet of warehouse space. Most of the first floor has nearly 15 feet of clear height, which would allow warehouse conversion, but the sale report doesn’t include plans for one.
Twin Cities Church takes a different approach to worship, focusing on having members invite small groups into their homes to share a meal and their faith.
Brandon Megal, senior vice president with CBRE in Minneapolis, represented the seller.
