
LUFKIN, Texas (Gray News) – A kangaroo that was on the loose jumped out in front of a police car.
Police in Lufkin, Texas, were responding to a call about a kangaroo on the loose when the kangaroo jumped out in front of the patrol car.
The moment was captured on the dash camera of the patrol car. Fortunately, the car didn’t hit the animal.
Authorities learned that the kangaroo belonged to a man in the neighborhood who told police the he forgot to close the gate to the kangaroo enclosure.
Police said in a Facebook post that the kangaroo made it back home safely.
Texas is one of 13 states that allow people to own kangaroos as an exotic pet, according to Texas Monthly.
