Kate Hudson never looks back in regret.
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE tied to her partnership with Rakuten, the actress, 44, opens up about red carpet looks she has worn throughout the years.
When asked if she has any regrets tied to an outfit she has worn in the past, Hudson firmly says, “No.”
“You know why? Because I love fashion, and anything that I’ve ever worn is always coming from a creative place for me,” she continues. “I never look back and regret those decisions.”
“I think there are things that other people might have thought weren’t their favorite, but for me, I’ve always worn, and choose to wear, what makes me feel good and how I love to express myself,” adds the star.

Continuing to look back at her red carpet looks of the past, Hudson says it is impossible to narrow it down to just one that stands out as a favorite.
“That’s such a hard question to answer, always. I do get asked that question quite a bit,” she explains. “I have worn so many incredible garments from amazing designers.”
But, thinking back to “recent [outfits] that are sort of in my head right now,” Hudson recalls loving the Tamara Ralph Couture hot-pink gown she wore to the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
“It had these big shoulders and … I loved the color and I loved the shape. I thought it made a beautiful silhouette,” the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star says. “I really loved that dress.”
Hudson is now making sure that shoppers around the world don’t face their own fashion regrets, which is where her partnership with Rakuten comes in.
The mother of three is promoting the brand’s “Shoppers Get It” campaign, which “celebrates the thrill of discovering new shopping secrets and Rakuten’s rise as the savvy shopper’s most rewarding way to shop and save,” per a release.
In a new commercial, two women meet in a bathroom on a night out and realize they are wearing the same PatBO dress, but discover that only one received cash back from Rakuten. Enter Hudson, who reveals that she is also wearing the same dress and used Rakuten to get cash back on her entire outfit.
The ensemble featured — a custom velvet minidress with rhinestone detailing that was crafted by runway designer Patricia Bonaldi — is now available exclusively for a limited time to Rakuten members, with 10% cash back, through March 11.
“I think part of what women and men do when they love to shop, or they love fashion, is we love sharing our tricks. Nowadays, everything is about, really, how can we shop and express ourselves, and have it be affordable and actually work for you,” Hudson tells PEOPLE. “That’s where Rakuten separates itself from everything else, is that it’s a place where you can actually get cash back. And that’s so important for everyone these days, to take care of their pocketbooks.”
