Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband and manager, has been ordered to pay her $2,641,374 in total.
This comes after he was charged with scheduling many high-profile engagements on her behalf.
The verdict, according to court documents obtained by the media, came from a labor commissioner in California on grounds of “wrongfully booking deals during their partnership as a manager and a singing client.”
It was discovered that Blackstock arranged for Clarkson to appear on The Voice as well as host the Billboard Music Awards, earning $1.98 million and $93.30, respectively.
He also formed alliances with major corporations such as Norwegian Cruise Line and Wayfair.
The problem, as stated by the commissioner, is that he shouldn’t have made these appointments since “your manager and booking agent must be different people,” even though there’s no problem with the money received, so he can be it.
According to California law, only an agent utilizing his license can legally obtain jobs for a specific client.
Clarkson, on the other hand, has been ordered to pay $1.3 million in child and spousal support.
They married in 2013, and then filed for divorce in 2020.
