Kelly Rowland’s ‘Today’ Departure Is Tied to Unpleasant Beyoncé Questions

According to TheWrap, Kelly Rowland’s quick departure from Today last Thursday was in response to Savannah Guthrie’s questions about Beyoncé, rather than concerns about her dressing room.

Initial reports stated Rowland’s departure was due to discontent with her dressing room arrangements, prompting Hoda Kotb to quickly locate a replacement co-anchor, with Rita Ora stepping in.

However, a person familiar with the issue told TheWrap that Rowland was insulted by Guthrie’s relentless and strong questions about Beyoncé, which prompted her exit.

Kelly’s discontent with the dressing area, according to a source close to her, is unfounded because she has appeared on the show several times and is familiar with the setting.

The insider highlighted that her outrage arose from Savannah Guthrie’s forceful interrogation of the Crazy in Love singer, which she and her team saw as rude.

During the Thursday interview, Guthrie asked Rowland what she thought of Beyoncé, to which Rowland reacted with compliments, saying she was proud of her.

Despite her repeated confirmations, she continued to inquire about Beyoncé’s new country project, Act II.

Rowland has an agreement in place before interviews that prohibits inquiries about Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child, as she wants to move on from that phase of her career.

Today’s interviews rarely adhere to predetermined constraints on topics.
