Awards Radar is a friendly place for Kevin Smith, that much has been clear since the start. Anything he does at least has our attention, if not our affection (though editor Joey Magidson almost assuredly will love it). So, when he has a new project in the works, it’s worth taking note of, and it seems like he has a return to television planned.
According to Variety, Smith and Universal are developing Local Heroes, which takes inspiration from his comic book store (which featured on the reality show Comic Book Men for years) to tell a tale about a group of comic book store regulars who solve crimes in their hometown. He’s an executive producer as well as a writer on the show. There’s not much else to report yet, but Smith fans will be able to look towards TV for more of his antics.
