Khloé Kardashian Changed the Last Name of Her Child

Tatum, the son of Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, had his name changed when he was young. TMZ says that the reality star gave her son the Kardashian last name instead of Thompson’s when he was born. However, she later changed her mind and chose to legally change it to Thompson’s, which is the name of her son’s father. PEOPLE says that Tatum’s first name also didn’t come right away. On his birth record, he was first called “Baby Kardashian,” while his mother decided on a first name.

Tatum was born to Kardashian in July 2022 through a surrogate. The Kardashians star and the NBA player also have a 5-year-old daughter together. Surrogacy was a hard way for Kardashian to have a child. This season on her family’s Hulu show, she talked about how hard it was for her to connect with her son during his first few months of life.

“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and then I take the baby, and then I go to another room, and you’re separated. It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him,” she said of giving birth. “I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it … That doesn’t mean it’s bad – it’s great, but it’s very different.”

Sister Kim Kardashian had an “easy” time with surrogacy, but the co-founder of Good American said hers was more of a “mind—.” She said on the show, “I wish I wasn’t so critical of myself because I’m very kind to everyone else; I’m just not very kind to myself. But being a mom is truly one of just the most magical experiences ever.”

Thompson is also the father of 16-month-old son Theo with ex-girlfriend Maralee Nichols and 6-year-old son Prince with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig. He has been on and off with Kardashian for years because of cheating stories, including ones that came out right before True and Tatum were born. This month, Kardashian spoke out against rumors that she and Thompson are back together. She said that the “story” was “boring.”
