Kickoff time, television network announced for Alabama football 2025 game at Georgia

Alabama football’s Sept. 27, 2025 game at Georgia will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT, ESPN announced Wednesday.

ABC will broadcast the game.

The trip to Athens will mark Alabama’s first since 2015, when the Tide won, 38-10. That 2015 game kicked off in the afternoon; Alabama has not played at night in Sanford Stadium since a 41-30 victory in 2008.

Georgia has won 31 consecutive games at home, with its last loss in Athens coming to South Carolina in 2019. That is the longest home winning streak in FBS, with Washington (20), Oregon (15), Boise State (12) and Alabama (12) the next-longest. Georgia hosts Marshall and Austin Peay to begin its home schedule in 2025.

Alabama has lost five of its past seven games away from Bryant-Denny Stadium, and begins the 2025 season on the road at Florida State.

The SEC announced in March 2024 that Alabama would play on the road at Georgia in 2025, the result of a mirrored conference schedule from 2024, when Alabama defeated Georgia in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The SEC in December set the date of the game as September 27, giving both teams a bye week preceding the game for a consecutive season.

Alabama had played back-to-back home games against Georgia in 2020 and 2024 because the conference’s previous scheduling formula ended when the league added Texas and Oklahoma. The league adopted a temporary schedule for 2024 and 2025, and has yet to decide upon a format for 2026 and beyond.

The Sept. 27 game will mark Alabama’s SEC opener, while Georgia opens its SEC schedule at Tennessee on Sept. 13.

Alabama and Georgia have played seven times since the Tide’s most recent trip to Sanford Stadium in 2015. That includes three SEC championship games in Atlanta (2018, 2021, 2023), two national championship games (2017 and 2021 seasons) and the two games in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama has been a betting underdog in each of its previous four games against Georgia but won three of them.
