Kickoff time, television partner announced for Texas vs. BYU


For the first time as conference rivals, the Texas Longhorns will host the BYU Cougars in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 28. The Big 12 announced Monday that game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and air on either ESPN or ABC.

Texas is 1-4 all-time versus the Cougars, with the lone victory a 17-16 win in Austin in 2011. The last meeting was in 2014, when BYU won 41-7 in Austin. Texas is 1-2 versus BYU in DKR and 0-2 in Provo, Utah.

Kickoff times for other games were announced. The Oklahoma Sooners will travel to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium for a matchup in Lawrence, Kan. with the Kansas Jayhawks. The game will start at 11 a.m. and be aired by FOX as part of the network’s Big Noon Kickoff.

Dana Holgorsen’s Houston Cougars will travel to Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan. to battle the Kansas State Wildcats. That game will air on ESPN2 and start at 11 a.m.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will visit Orlando, Fla. to face the UCF Knights as Big 12 opponents for the first time. FS1 will televise that contest, which will also air at 11 a.m.

Iowa State will head to McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas to face Dave Aranda’s Baylor Bear program. The game will stream on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and begin at 2:30 p.m.

The only primetime game of the week for the Big 12 on October 28 will be a battle in Stillwater, Okla. between the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. ESPN2 will air the game which will begin under the lights at Boone Pickens Stadium at 7 p.m.
