Kids Allergy Network leaders speak on issues of nutritional diversity

Kids Allergy Network, a group of more than 80 kid volunteers from Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, spoke to kids at the Ray Elementary School on Jan. 26, as part of their mission to build allergy-friendly communities.
Leaders of the Kids Allergy Network discussed how prevalent food allergies are, how to support kids who may have issues with certain foods, and strategies to address issues of food insecurity and nutritional diversity. Kids Allergy Network leaders also talked about their recent successful food drive that focused on allergy-free foods. Kids Allergy Network leaders highlighted the fact that even kids can make an impact on issues by coming together and supporting each other.
