Kieran Culkin may have lost control of his emotions after winning the 2023 Emmy Award over the weekend.
In the now-viral moment, the Succession star won Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his depiction of Roman Roy. In his acceptance speech, the 41-year-old actor asked his wife, Jazz Charton, for another kid.
In a press conference following the Emmys, Culkin admitted that he had been “asking for a while” and that his wife had joked, “Maybe if you win the Emmy, haha.”
The actor admits that his gesture was “rude” because he “didn’t bring it up for months,” and then confronted her.
“When I won the [Golden] Globe, I asked, ‘Do you remember what you said?’” And she says, ‘No!” What did I say? So I told her, and everything came back to her.
“So, then she spent the whole week being nervous and, instead of talking to her in private like a human,” he went on to say. “I just blasted her on stage, which was very rude. That’s it. That’s the whole story.”
Culkin and Charton married in June 2013 and welcomed their daughter Kinsey in September 2019. The couple had their son Wilder in September 2021.
