King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, arrived in France on Wednesday for a three-day state visit. They hope to get to know President Macron on a personal level so that years of tense ties between the two countries can be put behind them.
Hugh Grant, Emma Mackey, and other famous people met King Charles and Queen Elizabeth at the Palace of Versailles, where they will eat in the Hall of Mirrors.
The menu for the state dinner has already been released by the Elysee Palace. There will be blue lobster and a variety of French and English cheeses on the menu.
There will be about 160 people there, including celebrities and a wide range of officials and business and political leaders.
Macron’s office has also said that British actor Hugh Grant, French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, British rock star Mick Jagger, British writer Ken Follett, and British actress Emma Mackey are among the guests at the state dinner.
CEO of the French luxury group LVMH Bernard Arnault, founder of the French telecoms group Iliad Xavier Niel, former French football coach Arsene Wenger, and French football star Didier Drogba also joined King Charles at the state dinner at the Palace of Versailles, which was built in the 17th century.
