
MOUNT JEWETT — Kinzua Bridge State Park will offer a variety of programs in December and January.
Please dress for the weather as all programs will be held outdoors, unless noted elsewhere. If you have any questions, please contact the park office at 814-778-5467.
Programs include:
- Sunday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. – Natural and Man-made Decorations – Stop in the Visitor Center classroom to make a simple decoration using things from nature and some things that are man-made.
- Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. – Name that Conifer – Ever think that all Christmas Trees are “Pine Trees”? Stop by the Visitor Center classroom to find out what evergreens we have in our county.
- Monday, Jan. 1 at 11 a.m. – First Day Hike – Start the New Year healthy. Visit the park for a First Day Hike on the General Kane Trail. The trail is an approximate 1.5 mile easy rated trail. Dress in layers for the weather and wear appropriate shoes/boots. Part of the trail is open to hunting, so please wear an orange vest and hat. Meet in the overflow parking lot.
- Saturday, Jan. 20 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Winter Fun Day –Enjoy Winter Outdoors during our “Winter Fun day.” There will be many things to do and see. Sled-dog and musher demos and learn how to snowshoe and cross country ski, learn about PA”s White-tailed Deer and what they eat. Please call the park office for more info at 814-778-5467.
